MG_Serpentis_Temple_B1_Fix – RELEASED!

EDIT: Hey guys, we had a “minor” problem with B1; some textures weren’t included properly; but now it should all be good on the B1_Fix. Sorry for the inconveniences. If you happen to be one of the 20 guys that downloaded B1; feel free to remove it from your Map Folder to free some disc space.

Some days ago Luffaren and me released the very first version of MG_Serpentis_Temple. The map worked quite well to be honest; being a first version and taking into account all the weird things included within the map; but many bugs were still found when playing the map online.

So after fixing what was broken and improving some parts; here you have the new MG_Serpentis_Temple_B1_Fix. Download and enjoy!
If you haven’t played the map; or saw it briefly and didn’t understand it; is similar to a Course Map but with all players teaming together for a common goal. And some parts (like the 3-Door-Ways) aren’t made to be annoying; but to encourage the use of Team Working and Brain Cells. We really don’t recomend playing this map with a minimum of players (and 6 are required for legit completion).

Please notice how the map is called B1 as in Beta. That is because some rooms (at least two Crystal ones) and traps  are still missing; and some (like the Water Mills) are going to be improved; so we restrained from calling it V1.
But if you like the map and enjoy it being on your MG server; don’t wait for the V1, since it may take a long time until is released. Now, the map should be fully playable and crash/bug free and we are not going to rush any more versions (unless some game-breaking bug or glitch is found in this version; and we are hoping for that not to be the case).

The .ZIP of the Map includes the Changelog in case you want to know everything that was changed and fixed; but the basic and major changes are:

– Fixed many glitches (including the Spike Wall stucking problem or being forced to take a 5th Path in the 3-Door-Ways Crystal Room).
– Fixed major problems (like the massive lag occurring with more than 8 players being on the Main Room at the same time)
– Hopefully fixed a crash that could occur when the last player was being eaten by Medusa.
– The Shortcut is now a lot shorter.
– Changed the Sacrifice Room; now the room requires a minimum of 6 players to be completed.

Please notice that we intend to keep working on the map (but slowly and calmly now; by time to time while attending other projects of our own) with new Traps, the 2 Missing Crystal Rooms and some secrets; but the map will probably stay as it is for a while.
We also want to rework some areas to force a minimum of players and teamwork to solve some of the current traps/areas; and probably add some nice puzzles with original systems.

Also, I would personaly appreciate Videos, Screenshots or just Words of people legitimately beating the map. And I’m more than curious to know which is the fewer amount of people who were able to defeat Medusa; without using any kind of cheats, glitches or admin assist.

    Aparently there are some textures that weren’t Pakrated properly. We are looking into it.
    We couldn’t realize this minor issue because they are 1-byte size textures, and we both have them; so we both were seeing them and the map size was correct.
