Quick post about Mako.

We are well aware of some of the current glitches/problems going on with ZE FFVII Mako Reactor and people abusing them. Some of those problems have been known for a long time, but since people didn’t seem to know about them, and with Hannibal not feel like touching the map anymore (specially for only 2 fixes) he didn’t do anything about them. Also, even if he did, some of the recently discovered bugs are new to us and wouldn’t have been fixed anyway.

Hannibal will keep working on LMS, but I will get to fix Mako as soon as I release MG Serpentis Temple V1 (probably tonight), before moving back to Junon. So that’s it.
Sorry Mako Haters, no RIP ;-P

    Re-introduce materia upgrading like in the old days for more fun?

    The reason Hannibal added it was because of the spamming. But there are server plugins now which are preventing it. There weren’t many other changes made that time or? Can’t you take the old version and fix the new glitches?

    I didn’t think that you guys would still fix it anyway after that time..ty

    1st Anonymous: Don’t think so.

    5th Anonymous: Materia upgrading is comming back. The only reason it was gone was because back in the day we didn’t know as much as we do know and the only way of Filtering the Materias, or Keeping Track of a Player’s Level was with TargetName (as ClassName used to crash); and Mako got to a point (too many haters/griefers/trolls) where it became more important to filter them for user than to keep the leveling.
    Nowadays we can do both Filtering AND Leveling and still have TargetName free to use for something else.

    However guys, take in mind that I map slowly… And now I have IRL friends asking me to play with them so I may not release Serpentis V1 today after all…

    i personnaly dont care much for if leveling would return or not, it just ends with people going mad on extreme 2 when ever there is no heal ++.

    Either way something i really would be happy for is if sephiroth could work like in v3 again and NOT hurt himself then ever players die by lasers, i know you only want to make a fix, but if you got time keamon, think about it! It would make it so much more challenging agian because too many players would mean no win at all, in that way we would get rid of the boring easy wins again.

    Then you would only win when there are less than 10 people.

    They are boring easy wins because there is always heal++ and wind++ and ice++ in the final room and not because of the lazer part.

    There will be more fail and more deaths again in the new version so sephiroth doesnt need a boost in my opinion.

    kaemon, do you know the corner in the final room. where people keep stacking and wait for ultima to cast ? please add something into this corner that gives the cts like 50+ damage each second, like the middle of the zombie cage. or even better, add it into every corner of the final room so people wont switch stacking spots over the time. it is no real win when people stack, its just poor as hell.

    i dont hate you if you dont do this, i am glad that you still fix this map after all the time where it had no updates / fixes. people like slayerdragon spam zombie escape with new 5 minute maps every month, and these maps just suffer on poor support. and seeing you taking your time to fix mako, which is an quite old map, makes me really happy 🙂 much appreciated !

    Xionorjenz, as the Anonymous after you explained, the “problem” is that “we need to let people die so Sephiroth is possible” shouldn’t be part of the plan. I may consider adding more lasers that are harder to dodge and getting rid of the HP (so he self retreats) or something in those lines. But making 5 (or even 15) pros fail because 10 nubs reached the area is not fair to anyone.

    Last Anonymous, if I did that, they would just go to a different corner. Back in the day I suggested Hannibal to give zombies that “X Damage/sec” area (I may still do something like that) but lately I didn’t even remembered about the issue because I got used to playing on servers with the Anti-Stack-Plugin.
    Zombies not being able to knife humans inside other humans/zombies is more of a mod problem (that can be fixed using the Anti-Stack-Plugin) more than a map flaw. It just get accentuated because the existance of the materias, that allow you to recover form that cornered position.

    Hey Kaemon,

    You should add an Extreme 3, no Materia’s. I think it would be a great addition to the map and revive it a bit.

    Also, does this effect the CSGO version ?

    Well I was looking at some things but a rather unnoticed bug was the 2nd bahamut’s megaflare on ex2 was facing in the wrong direction. This bug happened since v3_1 and can you possibly fix this?
